Last night, the newly refurbished National Museum played host to the Scottish Leadership Awards 2011 gala dinner and awards ceremony.
Escape were delighted to host a table at the event which proved to be a fantastic evening recognising the best of Scottish Leadership and what an impressive line up in each of the categories!
Over the years there have been many criticisms made of our Leaders but last night proved that Scotland has the talent and capability that produces globally competitive businesses led by world class individuals.
It was indicative of the calibre on the night that every winner without fail, paid tribute to the teams within their businesses who supported them towards their achievements, a good sign that in the future we will continue to see more brilliant leaders emerge.
Baroness Eliza Manningham-Buller DCB, former head of MI5 gave the leadership lecture and it was fascinating to listen to the cultural and leadership challenges that she encountered in her time with the British national security organisation – starting with her reasons for accepting the leadership role and going on to talk about how she engaged and empowered her teams.
…..And no she didn’t look anything like M!
Congratulations to all the well deserved winners!
