Happy New Year!

Escape Recruitment LogoNo I haven’t got my dates wrong, last Friday was the end of Escape’s tenth year in business. This of course means that this week is the start of our new financial year and it brings with it the same sense of excitement and anticipation that it has always done.

We spent last year driving towards our targets, hitting our goals, winning new clients, working closer with our existing ones, training our staff and saying hello to new employees.  It was a year in which we achieved our business goals, we temporarily forgot about the recession, candidates became scarce and we had to develop new and wonderful ways to attract them to our opportunities. We started blogging, we launched a new website, we joined Facebook and throughout it all, like most teams out there, we had fun, fall outs and make ups along the way…as well as one highly competitive charity bake-off!

Of course, none of this would have happened without plenty of effort from everyone here and as we close another chapter in Escape’s history I wonder:

What will this year bring?

Well for starters….

Growth –  Our plans to grow our Glasgow, Livingston & Aberdeen teams started on Day 1 with Richie Winning joining our Engineering & Manufacturing team this week. (Read our Work For Us page for more details)

Communication – With more channels to talk, engage and hear from our current and prospective jobseekers and clients we’ll keep you even better informed and updated (and perhaps even entertained!).

AWR – The ‘Agency Worker Regulations’ is a significant project that we, along with all other recruiters and hirers will be tackling this year. This week we’ve created an online resource for hirers where you can download our client information pack and AWR factsheets.

Aberdeen – Escape have recruited within the Aberdeen marketplace for several years and I’ll be leading a development of the work we do in this area throughout 2011/2012 including building the local recruitment team.

Sounds like a busy year…can’t wait get to started!
