Monthly Roundup – September 2011

The first month in our 2011-2012 financial year is now over and it’s been a busy time for everyone in the team. Here’s just a few highlights from September at Escape including new employees,  new projects, the AWR and juggling lessons!

Trends

September is often a busy time of year for recruiters as jobseekers and hiring managers return from their summer holidays. This year has been no exception as we continued to experience an increase in both the number of new vacancies and new candidates registering with us last month. A trend mirrored across Scotland with the Bank of Scotland’s labour survey suggesting Scotland has had:

“a better jobs market than the UK as a whole in each month since April.”

Adrian JugglingEnd of year conference

On the last day of the month we held a company conference in Edinburgh. Not only was it great to get the whole team together but it was a real opportunity for everyone to reflect on their own year, share their highlights and acknowledge the successes and achievements of our colleagues as well as motivating ourselves for the year ahead! Advance Consulting incorporate exercises focussed on our corporate personality and the team also enjoyed a Circus Workshop thanks to Circus Malabaristas

Richie Winning | Escape Recruitment2 new hires and a promotion!

Our plans for growth got off to a great start with Richie Winning joining the consultancy team on September 1st and Kirsty joining our Back Office Support team mid-month. With our new induction in place and great support from their ‘buddies’ they’ve settled in well and already succeeding in their new roles.

New Regulations

With the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) coming into force on the 1st October 2011, final preparations and discussions with our clients and temps were a priority for our team throughout September to ensure we were ready for the ‘AWR Qualifying Clock’ to start on the 1st October.

Looking forward to what October has in store!
